flyLabel.js will serve as a correction to the "placeholder" craze that has took over Web designers in the past year.
Way to many developers have been using the new HTML 5 placeholder attribute on all their forms, even in situations where they shouldn't have.
This includes forms with multiple entry fields or that hold similar data.
Using placeholders instead of labels for these situations is a UX disaster waiting to happen. This is because placeholders disappear when users enter the text, and the user has to delete all his entered text to see what was the original field label (description).
The flyLabel.js plugin fixes this problem, by making the placeholder text (label) graciously move outside of the input field and remain visible after the user has entered his text.
This way users are in total control of what data they have entered in a field, always seeing the label above it.
